The Spirit Connection: A Brief History and Demonstration of Mediumship
Back in the day, scheduling a date in your diary to meet up with friends for a session around the Ouija board or better yet with a local psychic was as common place as meeting a friend for coffee today. Spiritualism burst onto the scene in North America in the mid-1800's. Mediums, psychics, suffragettes, together with a whole host of suspicious purveyors of the paranormal all took their place within the ensuing drama of the day. At a time when infant mortality was high and illness and disease claimed a significant portion of a population, death was an all-too familiar visitor. The opportunity to connect through a medium with a departed loved one would have offered a longed for glimmer of hope and comfort. Many made their way with anxious anticipation to parlours and public theatres for their chance to connect with 'the other side'.

Join local spiritual medium, Sheila Smedley as she invites you on a journey into the fascinating history of Victorian and Edwardian spiritualism. Venture further still with Sheila into the World of Spirit as she offers a live demonstration of modern mediumship. You'll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to gain a deeper understanding of the process of mediumship at this special event.
